Ngorongoro Crater - Full Day

After breakfast we will drive up to Ngorongoro highlands, spend few minutes for registration at the gate before driving up to the Crater view point where you can make a brief stop to get the most breath taking views of the Crater floor from above, you may take some pictures before descending 600 meters high walls into the Crater floor for a full day game drive.

Ngorongoro Crater is often referred by many as the Eden of Africa, because of its great scenery and abundance of wildlife. Large mammals and plain animals are making home in this natural Wildlife sanctuary. Lunch box will be taken at the Crater floor. You can expect to spot herds of wildebeests, elands, zebras, hippos, African elephants, gazelles and the rare black rhinos in their natural habitat.

Another big draw card in this huge caldera is the denser population of predators which include lions, hyenas, cheetahs, jackals and the ever-illusive leopards that needs sharp eye to be spotted. All these animals are bounded by the volcanic walls of 600 meters and can be viewed in a very close range. You will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner which is among the main features of the crater. Manyara Region takes its name from Lake Manyara, which is one of the major lakes formed in ancient times by the Great Rift Valley. It is the only Region in Tanzania to be bisected into two by the Great Rift Valley. It is a major wildlife water source and is, therefore, an essential part of the wildlife ecosystems of Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Tarangire National Park. In addition, Lake Manyara is the country’s largest breeding ground for tens of thousands of flamingo.

Kirurumu Manyara Lodge is set high on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, enjoying a marvellous, uplifting and panoramic view eastward over Lake Manyara, the Rift floor and Mt. Losimingori.
