Masai Mara National park
3 days / 2 nights
Overview
The name ‘Maasai Mara’ has become a synonym for the BIG FIVE. Soft grasslands dotted with acacia trees and sheer endless plains teeming with wildlife lie ahead of us. This is one of the finest wildlife destinations in the World. There is an excellent chance of seeing the Africa Big Five, cheetah, serval, hyena, bat-eared foxes, black-backed and side-striped jackals, hippo, crocodile, baboons, warthogs, topi, elands, Thompson’s gazelles, Grant’s gazelles, impalas, water bucks, oribis, reed-bucks, zebras on the Masai Mara Safari.
Superb plains scenery and unmatched safari activities, Masai Mara National Park is considered Kenya’s best park. It’s home to the great wildebeests’ migration.
Best time to visit: The long cool-dry season from July to October is considered to be the best time of the year to visit Maasai Mara as the absence of rain means that the flora is less dense, thus animals can be easily observed.
Wildlife to see: The “Big Five” – Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino are found here all year round. The ecosystem also hosts the Great Migration of Millions of wildebeests, zebras and impalas from Serengeti National park to Maasai Mara where they migrate in search of water and pastures. Birds which call this place home for many years include: vultures that can be found everywhere in the park but mostly close to Mara’s big cats, secretary birds, Marabou storks, Maasai ostrich, hornbills and lilac breasted roller are found here.
